Rust is rust Reading Fantastic, we have a new webshop. 5 minutes Next The Lilies are back online!

Fantastic, we have a new webshop.

Was there something wrong with the old one? Oh no, at least that's what I thought. If you ask an IT person, you'll get a completely different answer; the doors squeak, the thresholds are too high and the windows rattle in the frames. In short, if you believe them, a ruin, ripe for demolition.

I don't know the exact details either, I don't know anything about it at all, but nowadays it's all about the communication between all the different components and the speed of that. Different payment methods and the software of both the shipping houses and our own barn all have to speak the same language. Not that you'll order a Krokus and get a Krokodil, I'll say. Although, a Krokodil in the garden also makes for a chat in the street.

No, to be fair, they are right, those IT people. The new store is running like a charm and it offers a lot of convenience for you as a customer, but it is also a pleasure for Renata and me to work with. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Amaryllis White Cream

Well, now to sell bulbs because those IT people are not working for the cat's fiddle for us. By the way, have you ever seen an IT person at work? Well, I have. At least, I knew he was working because if you didn't know, you would never have guessed it. A builder of a web shop looks completely different than a construction worker you see toiling away in the shopping street. Casually dressed, almost neat, they sit relaxed in their chair while their fingers move over the keyboard at the speed of light. Sometimes you hear them talking, surprisingly enough not to you, no to a colleague who knows just a little bit better how to implement a certain payment system three cities away. When you ask him an ignorant question during the break, he gives an answer as if he knows everything. Look, you have to see it this way, he says while he takes my empty coffee cup with that silly flower motif that I like so much, this is the jar with all the e-mail addresses of customers who haven't ordered anything for over a year. And this, pointing to a bowl containing, who knows why, about ten plasters, is the pot with the customers who do order from us… so, now you know, they put your email address in a pot. It's all fine, let me quickly go to my Amaryllis greenhouse and just sit with my fingers in the mush.

Catastrophe

They are beautiful this year, by the way, the Amaryllises in my greenhouse. Really good, few misses. Of course, if you plant 300 or so, there are always a few that throw in the towel. About 5 all together, I think, that come to nothing. But otherwise, really great. By the way, if you also have such a bulb that is completely messed up, please let us know, we will gladly send you a new one or give you something extra with your next order.

Amaryllis Happy Grandise

One of the most beautiful Amaryllises this year in my greenhouse is the Happy Grandise . Above average large flowers with a rich red color that would make a wine grower jealous. Another red Amaryllis that always makes me happy is the Double Delicious . Not incredibly large flowers, for large double red Amaryllis flowers you need the Cherry Nymph , but incredibly beautifully shaped. Her beautiful symmetry in combination with her fantastic red color is simply candy for the eye.

If you plant one of these beautiful red Amaryllises now, you might just make it to have them bloom on Valentine's Day. Of course, put them in a nice warm spot, because that's what Amaryllises like.

Amaryllis Daphne

I can't leave the Daphne unmentioned. Everyone who comes to look in my greenhouse points her out. Her colour and flower size are simply unique. I personally find her colour incredibly beautiful, although I must honestly admit that there are also people who turn their noses up at her. Fortunately, because because we all have different tastes, red comes in 50 different colours.

Amaryllis Elvas

I'm going to hang up again but can I ask you one more thing; if you come across irregularities or awkward things in the new Fluwel webshop that you think could be much more user-friendly, would you please let us know. You all spend a lot more time on the Fluwel site than we do, it could easily be that we overlook something silly that we would of course have done differently if we had known. But if we don't know about a mistake, the chance that it will be corrected is small. We would very much appreciate it if you send us an email if you come across something like that.

Kind regards,

Carlos van de Veek
